Oh Happy Days .... Tattered Florals and Numbers

Phew I've finally finished this mahoosive canvas ...... but Oh Happy Days what FUN it was!

Yes you've guessed it, all my favourite Ranger, Tim Holtz & Sizzix goodies have been inked, stamped, painted, sprayed, die cut within an inch of their life ... but boy was this a nightmare to photograph lol!

I started out by applying Distress Paints (Antique Linen & Walnut Stain) using a piece of Cut N Dry Foam to this 45x35cm canvas. I've used Archival Inks (Jet Black & Sepia) to ink the following stamps with - Mixed Media, Papillon & Paris Memoir.

The bold numbers (Sizzix Alterations Cargo Numbers) have been inked with Jet Black & Sepia Archival Ink.

I've sprayed one of my fav Dylusions colour (Worn Leather) through a Crafter's Workshop Mask (Chicken Wire)

Some detailed embossing on the metal Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations Die (Tattered Flowers) which has been inked with Distress Paints and sanded back.

I sponged some Antiquen Linen, Walnut Stain, Weathered Wood & Broken China paints over the various Studio 490 Art Parts.

And no piece is complete without some Ideaology bits thrown in for good measure!

This week over at Simon Says Stamp & show they have the theme of "Numbers" and the GURU of all things DISTRESS (Mr Tim Holtz) continues to inspire us with the Tattered Florals Challenge ... go check out some of the awesome designs! Then there is the monthly challenge over at Inspiration Emporium where this month they are asking "Add A Little P.O.P".

Ok I'm off to lie down in a darkened room for a few days lol. Hope you enjoyed this project, it sure had me engrossed during the making of it! Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think, always appreciated. x

Your canvas was worth all the hard work Gillian. I agree with you about the worn leather spray, it's gorgeous and I love how you sprayed through the chicken wire stencil. Wonderful layers of interest and your dimensional flowers are gorgeous. I also love your use of the numbers. Thanks so much for joining in the Simin Says Stamp and Show Challenge. Tracy x

wonderful depth to your canvas Gillian. The dimension created by running your flowers through an embossing folder and highlighting the "bumps" is fab too.

Gillian...WOW! I love your canvas! That canvas color alone is beautiful! Love the mix of Walnut Stain and Antique Linen and how you've applied it with the Cut N' Dry foam! I really love those tattered flowers! WOW...they really have a lot of technique and detail done to them...but it's so worth it! I also love the Worn Leather spray and your use of it with the chicken wire stencil looks fantastic against that background! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful art with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
