Messy!! ......

Who Moi!! ... oh yes indeed. I'm messy when I art *my space resembles goodness knows what when I'm finished* and I'm messy in my crafting style ... I just can't do clean! Nope no matter how hard I try *finger marks, smudged ink*. Hey we all can't be perfect lol. Remember one of HRH Tim Holtz sayings "Embrace Imperfection" .... would be rude not to right!!!

Soooooo my "happy mess" today consists of my new Distress Paints (oh yeh) and two of the new Dylusions Sprays (woop). Now I had all good intentions of taking pics as I went along but nope did I remember duh ... got so caught up on each ooooo and ahhhhh lol! However the guys over at Simon Says Stamp & Show have been creating their own awesome "messy" art .... go check it out!

I LOVE how this cool mottled background turned out. I started by applying Distress Paint (Walnut Stain) to a large Manilla Tag, whilst wet I spritzed some Calypso Teal then blotted the ink up with some kitchen roll, repeat the process with White Linen, repeat until desired effect is achieved.

I then stamped images from the following Tim Holtz Blueprint Stamp Sets (RingMaster, Valentine & Worn Text) in Archival Ink (Jet Black) .... awesome designs MJ3!

Next I stamped the "14" image onto cardstock, trimmed and coloured with a Distress Marker (Vintage Photo), I then flicked some more Dylusion Sprays in (Black Marble, Campso Teal & White Linen) .... cool huh!

I hope to have more "messy" art to share with you next time. Thanks for stopping by! x

Gillian...LOVE your Tim-ish tag! The tag sitting on the burlap background is a very cool way to get some lovely contrast. Love the background color of your tag and the random black stamping you've done on it. Very cool design! Thanks for sharing your tag with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy

I'm with you Gillian, my desk looks like a bomb has exploded when I have finished creating a piece. However I am so pleased you decided to get messy for your art this week. Your tag is fabulous, wonderful background and stamping and I love the pop of red. Thanks so much for joining in the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. Tracy x x
