This week the team over at Simon Says Stamp are asking us to show them "What We Are Known For" ........... hmmmmm that's a tricky one! I suppose my love of all things vintage, my love of these Paper Mache Hanging Boards to alter and last but not least my love of all things PaperArtsy spring to mind!
To start with I applied a base coat of Nougat Fresco Paint to the board. The Lynne Perrella image has been stamped onto Crackly Tissue Paper using Archival Ink (Jet Black) then adhered using Fresco Satin Glaze.
I then applied some texture through a stencil and randomly to the side using some Ferro and Puff Paint. Next I applied a layer of French Roast Fresco Paint before applying Treasure Gold in Onyxite
The wooden chipboard leaves have been painted with Mermaid Fresco Paint, stamped and then some Treasure Gold to highlight.
I've kept the back fairly minimal by applying a coat of French Roast then several colours (Mermaid, Inky Pool & Snowflake) which have been "bumped" (Leandra technique) through a stencil before more lashings of Treasure Gold were added around the edges.
I love these little altered works of art ... I hope you have too.

Gillian...Your wall hanging is so beautiful! I so love browns and teals together...so you had me at that! :) I love the embossed images. I also love the corrugated edge along one side of your piece. The glazes and Fresco paint colors are amazing!
