Simon Says .... Show Some Things With Wings

Hello everyone .... brrrr it's chilly here today (what's new lol) , nearly caught up with all the jobs to do, except the ironing .... any takers?? I warn you it's a mahoosive pile - no ok then!

Monday also means that the ever so lovely Linda E has a new theme over at Simon Says Stamp & Show .... this weeks theme is "Things With Wings" ... would be rude not to join in right!

So having been in the "Room Of Stash" a few days ago I stumbled (well spotted) some Milled Lavender Distress Stains, now I am the first to admit that when the new stains were released, Milled Lavender didn't jump out at me, it's not normally a colour I would use .... however I was convinced otherwise after having a play with said stain.

I started out by covering the three panel shrine with Picket Fence Stain, then smooshed a layer of Milled Lavender, then a layer of Dusty Concord.

I then gently sanded the shrine to distress it further. I stamped a selection of Studio 490 stamps in Seedless Preserves (ooh la la, love it) and Archival Ink (Jet Black).

I then spritzed some Dylusions Ink (Aubergine) through a That Special Touch Honeycomb Mask.

I distressed Studio 490 Art Parts with Tea Dye and edged with Seedless Preserves.

Lastly to finish off I have added various Ideaology and 7Gypsies metal embellishments.

Check out the fantastic inspiration on offer at the DT blogs and don't forget, as always there is a $50 gift voucher from the generous sponsor Simon Says Stamp for the lucky winner chosen at random.

I was not sure about the milled lavender either but now I'm convinced it's a NEED. Love your piece, love the bodice with wings and crown and the lovely distressed feel. Great background, love the use of the mask. Thanks so much for joining in the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. Tracy x

Oh Wow Gillian! I love your panel shrine. It's just amazingly beautiful...from the amazing color you achieved with the picket fence, milled lavender and dusty concord to the little metal handles and wings! I think this piece is so inspired and just truly a work of art! Thanks for sharing it with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. <3 Candy

Oooh love this! I must be odd because Milled Lavender has always been one of my favourite Distress Inks so I definitely need the Stain, lol! Fab use of the stamps and embellishments too.
