A Trip, Distress, A Meet & SSS ....

Good Evening everyone ... so much to say to say in just one post lol .... Well, as some of you may know yesterday I travelled down to London to attend a class at L.B Crafts where the lovely Lin demonstrated and shared some techniques when working with TSS Metal. I'm so glad I did this class, I met some lovely ladies during the class, learned loads and had so much fun. This was my 1st time visiting L.B Crafts .... yes I squealed once I stepped inside .... Aladins Cave indeed! I will share pics of the finished project later in the week as Lin is shipping it up to me (we didn't think airport security would appreciate that in my hand luggage)! Yesterday also saw the delivery of the much anticipated new Distress Stains (Oh my giddy aunt), I can tell you there was alot of excitement in the building. So it would be rude right if I didn't drop some into my basket lol. After the class finished it was time to "Meet some Tweets" with Hel's, Gabrielle,Jo, Karen & Lin. A lovely time was had by all, only down side was it wasn't long enough as I had to get back to the airport for my flight home. A big thank to Hel's and (Ferdie) for that, and also for the gorgeous tags I received:):) x

Anyway's it just so happened that I had a parcel delivered yesterday whilst I was away .... and guess what was in it ..... ????
Squeal .... PICKET FENCE .... Oh my giddy aunt (again) ... seriously this Distress Stain is just the best ever. It is different from the other Distress Stains, the consistency is thicker for one and it completely transforms the colour of other DS ... cool huh! The sample above is using Frayed Burlap, Brushed Corduroy, Picket Fence & Wild Honey.

This week the lovely Linda E over at Simon Says Stamp & Show has asked us to "show a tag"! So using the background above I set to work working with the Big Daddy Mould (11a) and TSS Metal (Dijon) which was then painted with Adirondack Dabber Paint (Pitch Black) then inked with Alcohol Inks (Pesto & Rust). I then stamped a quote from Tim Holtz (Stuff To Stay) in Archival Ink (Coffee). I randomly applied Tissue Tape to white cardstock and die cut Umbrella Man using Vlad the Vagabond. I then inked "Umbrella Man" with Alcohol Inks as above. The Rosette was inked and sprayed with Adirondack Colour Wash (Sunset Orange & Butterscotch) then spritzed with Perfect Pearls Mist (Pearl). The heart was also inked with Alcohol Inks and Tissue Taped as previous. As always various pieces of Ideaology have been used to "dress" the tag.

Don't forget to check out the DT's blogs for their inspirational projects and as always the generous sponsor is giving away a $50 gift voucher to the lucky winner.

Oh lucky, lucky you Gillian. I can just imagine how fab that class with Lin was. My CSQ blog buddies had a fab visit to Lin's shop last year and did a brilliant workshop with the lovely Linda E. Fabulous ladies both!

Love your tag and I think that Picket Fence Stain has to be the next one on my list. Brilliant use of the tissue tape and I always love the use of metal.
