Simon Says Stamp & Show .... Embossing

When having a tidy up of all my craft stash today, I came across this piece of cardboard ..... as you can see from the pic above it has lent itself in shape already to some sort of binder .... hmmm!!

Hello Monday .... a new week see's a new theme over at Simon Says Stamp & Show. This week the lovely Linda E has asked us to show some "Embossing". I started out by painting the cardboard sparingly in PaperArtsy Fresco Paint (Snowflake).

I then embossed various Tim Holtz stamps in clear embossing powder and Distress Embossing Powder in Vintage Photo. I inked the front & back covers with DI Vintage Photo & Walnut Stain, then spritzing with my fav Dylusions Ink (Worn Leather). Other Tim Holtz stamps have been inked with Archival Ink (Coffee).

I inked the Ornate Plate with Paint Dabbers in Black & Gold then wiping off the excess.

The inside of the binder was also painted with PA Fresco Paint (Snowflake) and distressed with Vintage Photo. The small binder ring is from Tim Holtz's Ideaology range.

I used texture paste along the seam of the binder to help reinforce it, blasted dry with a heat gun , then dabbed Adirondack Paint Dabber in Pitch Black & Gold.

On the back of the binder I dry embossed a spare piece of carboard with the Sprockets & Gears Texture Fade and further ditressed with Walnut Stain. The Steampunk gents have been stamped onto tissue paper and inked with Dylusions Ink (Worn Leather).

As always the challenge is sponsered by Simon Says Stamp who have a $50 Gift Voucher for the lucky winner chosen at random! Don't forget also to check out the wonderful samples from the inspirational DT ... on that note sadly Lori, Kim & Nancy are stepping down from the DT to concentrate on other things, they will be missed that's for sure! Simon Says Stamp & Show have a DT call which is open until Sunday 24th July, details can be found on the link above.

What a fantastic idea from a piece of card, love how you have aged it and love the use of the frame over the word curiosity . Great piece. Tracy x

Just fabulous - the best things in life are often free! Really love the faded and aged look of your binder - the tones and stamping are perfect and the chaps look like they feel right at home. a beautiful creation. Thank you so much for popping by my blog sharing your work with Simon says Stamp& Show. (DT call...DT call...!)
