IT'S ALL ABOUT RUST ....

This months theme over at Alter It Monhly is "Rust":):):) .... I love working with Rusty old pieces (and I don't mean Zuzu & Ginger lol). Our sponsor this month is the lovely Jeanette from Vintage Supply Co. Jeanette's online etsy shop is an aladdin's cave of unique and rare finds with the mixed media artisit in mind. To be in with a chance of winning this month simply create a piece incorporating rust, link it to the challenge blog .... Please read the rules to ensure your submission is valid for the prize draw. Good luck:)

Here I have created a piece using a scrap odd like shape of Rust which came in a bag of mixed media materials purchased from Vintage Supply Co, a cotton Reel, clear Utee with various different cog/wheels, TH Tissue Tape available here. The base is a pumpkin rust shape available here.

This piece was created by using a 4 inch Rusty tin tile available here. I have highlighted the edges to create a Verdigris Patina affect using Metallic Rub Ons, the chipboard heart in the centre was coloured using TH Distress Ink (Stormy Sky) , image is Paper Whimsy, the heart was then dipped in clear Utee and allowed to cool. TH Adage Tickets available here. Flourish corner is also available from here.

This hanging piece was made using a 4 inch rectangle rusty sign also available from here. The metal circle and rusty key were also in a goody bag from Vintage Supply Co

I love all of your pieces. Thee dragon fly pond is so cool and the tile on your second piece looks superb. I am going to have to check out that store. I never thought of using tissue tape with rust but it goes so well.

You've been busy! My favourite is the last piece. Just enough rustiness for me, great idea.
