WHISPER SWEET MAMA ....

After a mentally challenging night at work, what better way to relax than sit down and make some art! Finally able to enter a piece for this weeks theme over at Mixed Media Monday , where Rosie has chosen the theme of "Oriental".

Here is my 8x8 canvas .... loved using the vintage Oriental text paper against the bold red background, I have used watered down acrylic paint to give an almost transparent look in certain areas and these images were just perfect.

I agree that when work is stressful there is no better time to unwind by creating! :) Lovely piece! Thanks for your kind comments on my Grandparent's book...so true that all good things come from Scotland. Still wondering if Grandma might be distantly related to you since she shares the same surname! :)

The transluscent areas really create an aged feel to this piece. Great idea to use the watered down acrylic.
nothing beats winding down by creating something does it.
